Lifeguard Training

Overview

The Lifeguard Training course provides students with the knowledge and skills required to work as a professional lifeguard. The course covers lifeguard observation, safety and risk management, and emergency response activities. Students will learn how to rescue both responsive and unresponsive victims from the water and how to prevent injuries. The course also covers first aid, respiratory emergencies and cardiac emergencies.

Throughout the course, students will learn about the responsibilities and duties of a professional lifeguard. They will gain practical experience in lifeguard observation, safety and risk management, and emergency response activities. Additionally, students will learn how to prevent injuries, as well as how to respond to first aid, respiratory emergencies and cardiac emergencies.

They will be able to observe and manage safety and risk, respond effectively to emergencies, and provide first aid and assistance in respiratory and cardiac emergencies. Requirements

• Must be 15 years of age or older
• Must be able to swim 300 yards continuously
• Must be able to retrieve a 10-pound brick from a depth of at least 7 feet and swim it back to the starting point within 1 minute and 40 seconds
• Must be able to tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs
• Must attend all lectures and pass all written and practical exams to receive certification
