Overview

This Hairdressing course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of hairdressing. Throughout the course, students will develop essential skills in hair cutting, braiding, and styling. The course begins with an introduction to hairdressing, covering topics such as hair types, face shapes, and scalp conditions. Students will learn how to identify different hair textures and how to select the appropriate cutting and styling techniques to achieve the desired results.

In the Hair Cutting module, students will learn how to use various cutting tools, such as scissors and razors, to create different styles and shapes. They will learn how to assess the client's hair type and face shape, and how to use cutting techniques to achieve a flattering and stylish look.

The Hair Braiding module will introduce students to different braiding techniques, including French braids, fishtail braids, and cornrows. They will learn how to create a variety of braids, how to section and weave hair, and how to use styling products to create different textures and finishes.

Finally, the Hair Styling module will cover a range of styling techniques, including blow-drying, curling, and up-dos. Students will learn how to select the right tools and products for different hair types and how to create a variety of looks, from classic to contemporary.

Throughout the course, students will have the opportunity to practice their skills in a supportive and professional environment, with guidance and feedback from experienced instructors. By the end of the course, students will have the confidence and expertise to begin a career in hairdressing or to pursue further study in this exciting and dynamic field.

Requirements

• Hair cutting and styling tools, such as scissors, razors, clippers, combs, and brushes.
• Hair styling products, such as hairspray, mousse, gel, and styling wax.
• A mannequin head or a live model to practice on.
• Access to a salon or hairdressing training facility is also beneficial to allow for hands-on practice and feedback from experienced instructors.
